Paper Retriever is a paper recycling program that has traditionally been FREE,.\u00a0 With the decline in paper production and value of the paper collected, the amount of FREE bins in the marketplace have diminished.\u00a0 However, Paper Retriever has developed other recycling programs for businesses, schools and communities to supplement the small number of remaining fundraiser bins.<\/p>\n\t\t\tWhat can be put in the bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

Depends on the program that is selected:<\/p>\n

In our traditional FREE Program – We accept newspapers, magazines, catalogs, fax paper, school and office paper, notebooks, folders, and mail.<\/p>\n

In our new ECO-FIBER Program – We are accepting Cardboard and Paper – ANYTHING THAT TEARS CAN GO INTO THESE BINS<\/p>\n

ECO-COM Program – Fiber only mix with plastic and aluminum beverage containers – #1 PET plastic bottles & Aluminum cans<\/p>\n\t\t\tWhere does the recyclable paper go after it is picked up from the Paper Retriever bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

Paper placed in the Paper Retriever bins are collected, brought back to sorting facilities for quality control, then shipped to end users such as paper mills, egg carton manufacturers and home insulation manufacturer’s.<\/p>\n\t\t\tWhen will you deliver our recycling bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

We will place your bin at the earliest agreed upon date after signing up with our program. Alert us if you need it by or on a specific date.<\/p>\n\t\t\tAre inside containers provided?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

No, but most locations use cardboard boxes to collect their recycled paper. In addition, economically priced desk-side containers are available to purchase from us or at locations such as Staples, Office Depot, Home Depot, etc.<\/p>\n\t\t\tWill trash get in the bins?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

Based on over a decade of data collected during the time the program has been running, the amount of trash found in the clearly-marked recycling bins amounts to less than 5%. Also, since the bins are placed in highly visible locations, people are less apt to abuse it. In the unlikely event trash becomes an issue; we will make you aware of the situation and work with you to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n\t\t\tHow much paper does a recycling bin hold?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

Our 7 yard containers is the equivalent of 5 pickup truck beds!\u00a0 7 cubic yards of material can be spread to cover 700 square feet!\u00a0 It’s also over 1,400 gallons!\u00a0 Our bins full of Paper can hold between 1,000 to 2,000 pound! \u00a0Less if the paper is loose office paper or shredded paper; more if the contents are the newspapers, catalogs and magazines that should be encourage by our donation suppliers.<\/p>\n\t\t\tWhat is the size of the recycling bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

The Paper Retriever bins are 7-cubic-yard with dimensions of approximately 6’x6’x6′ (slightly smaller than a parking spot).<\/p>\n\t\t\tHow often are the bins emptied?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

The bins are emptied on a regular pickup schedule.\u00a0 Depending on your program\/needs, your pickup schedule will be agreed upon and fulfilled per our service agreement.<\/p>\n\t\t\tCan I put cereal boxes, chipboard, milk cartons, soda cartons, food cartons or tissue products in the bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t

No, please. We cannot recycle any of these items to make newsprint. We also do not accept cardboard with the Free Paper Retriever program.<\/p>\n\t\t\tIs shredded paper allowed in the bin?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n

Yes and no. We do not accept plastic bags in the program. All shredded paper should be emptied from plastic bags at the bins. No other paper should ever be bagged with plastic.\u00a0Start asking for paper bags at the Grocery store!<\/p>\n<\/article>\n
